SECOND PAYMENT OVERDUE
Students that need to pay the second half of their Orchestra Activity fees, your deadline was Friday, January 13th. Freshmen/new students pay $125.50, upperclassmen pay $112.50. Please make your checks payable to SLOPA. If you are unclear as to whether you are in this category, please check your Charms account to see if you owe a balance.

THE O-LYMPICS ARE COMING!
We have reserved tomorrow after school to be our big Winter O-Lympics celebration; however, the weather may be less than cooperative. We will make a determination about the weather on Thursday, and pass on info as to whether we will indeed have the event. If we hold it, we will see you at 3-5:30p at Seven Lakes Pavilion, off of Seven Meadows, across from Bonnie Holland Elem. If cancelled, student monies will be refunded on Tuesday, upon our return to school.

MOO-YAHS SPIRIT NIGHT
Every first and third Thursday is Moo-yahs Spirit Day! Make sure that you mention that you are with the Seven Lakes Orchestras so that we can get credit for your purchase...a whopping 15% from 4 to 10p at the La Centerra location!

SW4 ENDS FRIDAY
This is the determining six weeks for UIL. Please turn in extra credit and be sure you are passing ALL your classes!

FREE TICKETS!
The Faure String Quartet will be performing on Monday, February 20th at 8p at Rice University's Brown Hall, and we DON'T have MNR that night! If you are interested in one or some of the four free student tickets available, please reply to this email to claim them.

LAST TRIP PAYMENT
Our final trip payment has been reduced by $80 to $170. This final payment is due on Friday, February 26th.

CAMERATA/SYMPHONY PRE-UIL CONCERT
In preparation for our upcoming UIL Contest, we will be hosting our Preview Concert on Tuesday, February 28th, beginning at 6p. All students should be appropriately dressed in their formal concert uniforms. The call time for Camerata students is 5:30p onstage . The Call Time for Symphony students is 6:00p in the Orchestra Room. The concert begins at 6:00p and we will start with our Camerata Orchestra. The Symphony portion of the concert will start shortly thereafter, and will also take their group photo onstage. All students are required to stay for the duration of the concert; we should conclude the concert at about 7p.

IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE 2/28 CONCERT...
...we will host the Mandatory Orlando Trip Meeting, starting at 7p in the PAC. ALL students attending the trip and at least one parent is required to attend. Parents should plan to arrive early to pick up paperwork and such in the foyer. Please bring a writing utensil and updated insurance information if there have been changes.

MARCH UIL
Our Camerata and Symphony Orchestra will be competing at the "early" March UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Contest on Thursday, March 8th. More info to come...

UNLEASH YOUR INNER ROCK STAR
Mark Wood invites YOU to connect with string players from around the world at his 3rd annual Mark Wood Rock Orchestra Camp taking place on July 15-21, 2012! This event is OPEN TO STRING PLAYERS OF ALL LEVELS (violin, viola, cello, bass), VOCALISTS, GUITARISTS, AND ELECTRIC BASS PLAYERS - Educators, university students, pre-college students (middle school, high school), professional performers, and adult amateurs.

When: July 15 -- July 21, 2012
Where: MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, KS (just outside of Kansas City) -- in the brand-new, 40,000 sq ft acoustically engineered masterpiece, Bell Cultural Events Center

Cost: $825 - includes room and board, free MWROC t-shirt, and free MWROC DVD (Email us for educator rates and guardian rates.)

In addition to string players, MWROC 2012 is now open to vocalists, guitarists, and electric bass players! The MWROC Facebook Group is now OPEN TO THE PUBLIC - it's a great place to connect with other campers and our great faculty!
